Watch: Breathtaking Scale of Chinese Feature Film "New Gods: Yang Jian," Available on Blu-ray April 25

Light Chaser Animation's "New Gods: Yang Jian" is now available digitally and will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on April 25.

It will also be available on Blu-ray and DVD on April 25! Factory and GKIDS have given Cartoon Brew an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the making of this Chinese film that shows the enormous scale and the amount of time spent creating breathtaking environments.

Directed by Zhao Zhi, "New Gods: Yang Jian" is the second film in Light Chaser Animation's popular "New Gods" action fantasy feature series. Yang Jian was released in China in August 2022 and topped the mainland box office, earning $19.8 million in its opening weekend before closing its theatrical run in China with $82.4 million.

Here is the synopsis for Yang Jian:

Thirteen years after Yang Jian imprisoned his sister, Erlang Shen (Erlang Shen), once a powerful hero, now lives a meager existence as a poor bounty hunter. Hired by a mysterious woman, Yang Jian soon finds himself in pursuit of a familiar figure. He must stop his long-lost nephew Cheng Xian, who is searching for a powerful but dangerous artifact. Yang Jian must face his past and confront a traitorous vigilante who seeks to bring about catastrophic destruction.
