Mascha Halberstad's "The Fox and the Hare Save the Forest" to have its World Premiere in Berlin's Generation Competition

The lineup for the Competition section of this year's Berlin Film Festival, which will be held from February 15 to 25, has been announced.

As of now, there will be no animated films in the festival's main competition, but that could change over time. In fact, today's program announcement included only one film, Mascha Halberstad's "Fox and Hare Save the Forest," which will have its world premiere in the Generation Competition section. Halberstad shared exclusive behind-the-scenes footage with Cartoon Brew last year and talked about the film, which is nearing completion.

This year's Berlinale Shorts Competition will feature seven animated shorts, four of which will have their world premieres. In addition, three shorts will be entered in the Generation K Plus section of the Berlinale Short Film Festival.

Below is a list of short animated films that will be screened at this year's Berlin International Short Film Festival. Bolded films are world premieres.
