Mel Brooks discusses Ernest Pintoff's "The Critic"

The clip above is an animation-related outtake from Mel Brooks' new documentary "Make a Noise," which premiered on PBS earlier this week. In the clip, Brooks discusses the genesis of Ernie Pintoff's Oscar-winning short "The Critic":

This was not Pintoff's first collaboration with a Jewish comedian. His earlier "The Violinist" (1959) used the voice of Carl Reiner: [but neither short, "The Full Bus" (a 1957 Terry Toons short featuring the vocals of the incomparable Allen Swift), Pintoff's largest work with a Jewish actor featured) is not to be outdone.
