Academy Announces Short List of 10 Animated Short Films

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the short list of 10 animated short films that will advance to voting for the 89th Academy Awards. This was the most competitive year in the short film category in history.

The 10 films are listed below in alphabetical order by title.

Members of the Animated Short and Feature Film Competition will now select five nominees from these films at chapter screenings in Los Angeles, London, New York, and San Francisco in December. Nominations will be announced on January 24, 2017.
