Disney Television Animation Explores Real-Time Rendering in "Baymax Dreams"

While this technology is hardly a secret, as it is already built into the pipeline of animated feature films, television series, and shorts, the fact that Disney is now exploring the possibilities of this technology is nonetheless remarkable.

Disney Television Animation has teamed up with Unity to produce "Baymax Dreams," a three-episode animated short film inspired by the "Big Hero 6 The Series" television series. The following video describes it:

"Baymax Dreams" is directed by Simon J. Smith and consists of a creative director from Disney Television Animation and 15 Unity team members. The project was created over a six-month period using Unity 2018.2, using a GeForce GTX 1080Ti, running at 1080p at 30 fps in real time.

Baymax Dreams will be available on Disneynow and Disney Channel's YouTube channel starting September 15.
