-Pinocchio," "Marcel," "Puss in Boots," "Turning Red," nominated for a BAFTA Best Animated Feature Award, to face off again.

Four animated feature films jumped out as strong contenders at nearly every major awards ceremony this awards season.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), the UK's equivalent of the Oscars, decided to ignore the question altogether and nominated only four popular films for Best Animated Feature: Guillermo del Toro's "Pinocchio", "Marcel in a Shoeless Shell", " Puss in Boots: and Turning Red.

Guillermo del Toro's "Pinocchio" was also nominated for Original Score and Production Design.

In the British Animated Short Film category, Oscar nominees Peter Bainton and Charlie Mackesy's The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse, directed by John Stevenson (Kung Fu Panda) and Ayesha Penwarden's "Middle Watch" and Hannah Jacobs' "Your Mountain is Waiting" will face off.

Like most of this year's VFX awards, "Avatar: The Water Way" seems to be the frontrunner among an impressive group of films, including "Western Front Extraordinary," "Batman," "Everything Everywhere All at Once" and "Top Gun": Maverick

This year's BAFTA Awards will be held on Sunday, February 19 at the Royal Festival Hall in London.
