English dubbed trailer for Hayao Miyazaki's "The Boy and the Hare" completed.

GKIDS has released the English-dubbed trailer for Hayao Miyazaki's "The Boy and the Hare," which will be released in the United States on December 8.

"The Boy and the Hare" is an original story written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki and produced by Studio Ghibli co-founder Toshio Suzuki, with music by Hayao Miyazaki's longtime collaborator Joe Hisaishi.

The English voice cast includes Christian Bale, Dave Bautista, Gemma Chan, Willem Defoe, Karen Fukuhara, Mark Hamill, Robert Pattinson, and Florence Pugh. All English dubbed versions were produced in accordance with SAG-AFTRA.

While today's trailer features the English dubbed version, purists will be pleased to know that GKIDS will also be showing the original Japanese version with English subtitles.

Ghibli's description of the film, written in the form of a poem, reads:

A boy named Mahito

yearns for his mother

and enters a world shared by the living and the dead.

There, death comes to an end

and life finds a new beginning.

A semi-autobiographical fantasy about life, death and creation dedicated to friendship.

GKIDS and Ghibli have had a long and fruitful working relationship, and the distributor now owns the rights to Studio Ghibli's library of films across theatrical, home video, digital, and streaming platforms. since 2017, GKIDS has also produced the annual Studio Ghibli Fest, which also produces a monthly national theatrical program featuring Ghibli films in over 800 theaters nationwide.
