Bob Iger Announces Production of Fourth "Anna and the Snow Queen" Film

Appearing on Good Morning America today, Disney CEO Bob Iger indicated that a fourth film in the hugely popular "Anna and the Snow Queen" franchise is already in production at Walt Disney Animation.

CEO Iger joined the talk show from Hong Kong Disneyland, where he witnessed the grand opening of the World of Frozen attraction at Hong Kong Disneyland.

The CEO told GMA:

Frozen 3 is in the works and there may be a Frozen 4. But there's not much I can say about those films right now." But Jen Lee, who created the original "Anna and the Snow Queen" and "Anna and the Snow Queen 2," is working hard with the Disney Animation team on not one, but actually two stories.

Iger told investors during last week's earnings call that sequels to the "Anna and the Snow Queen," "Toy Story," and "Zootopia" franchises are in the works.

Disney is well known for its numerous animated and live-action films that have failed to make an impact and have underperformed at the box office. It is clear that Iger and his team believe they can reverse this trend by returning to the tried and true franchise, at least when it comes to animated feature films.
