Short of the Week's Best Short Films of 2013

Short of the Week, a website that has established itself as one of the preeminent online forums for short film discourse, has announced the 2014 Short of the Week Awards, which honor projects that "carry the torch of the short film, charge into the unknown, [and] explore new genres, new characters, new styles . exploring and leaving us with an impression we can never shake off." to honor projects that "have made a lasting impression on us that we can never shake off," the 2014 winners have been announced.

Of the nine winners, two were animated films: Fernando Maldonado and Jorge Teleso's "Shave It" (see Cartoon Brew article) and Jonathan Ng's "Requiem for Romance" (last year's Oscar contender).
