The Further Adventures of Uncle Sam, by Robert Mitchell and Dale Case.

I had never seen the Academy Award-nominated "The Further Adventures of Uncle Sam" (1970) until today. It was after "Yellow Submarine" and before "Fritz the Cat" and reflects the zeitgeist of the underground comics of the time. Directed by Dale Case and Robert Mitchell and produced by the Haboush Company in Hollywood, it was made at a time when the animation industry was in a general slump, a time when some of the younger (Murakami-Wolf) and older (Stephen Bosstow) members of the industry decided to make their own personal films of social commentary The film was produced at the time.

Note: This film is listed all over the place as "The Further Adventures of Uncle Sam Part 2," but "Part 2" does not appear as part of the title on the screen. If you know the reason for this, or if there is a "Part 1" anywhere, please let me know.
