Ten Films Selected for the Academy Awards for Best Animated Short Film

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the ten nominees for the Best Animated Short Film category. Five of these ten films are nominated:

Incidentally, I had the opportunity a few days ago, I tweeted about four of this year's qualifying animated shorts that I felt were truly Oscar-worthy. Not one of them made the shortlist, but don't let that stop you from looking for them. They are all great shorts that artistically extend the art form and engage the viewer in a meaningful way:
