Shave It" by 3dar

The film is directed by Fernando Maldonado and Jorge Tereso of Bueno Aires, Argentina-based 3dar. The monkey at the center of the film is a stone-faced environmentalist schemer. The filmmakers explain:

For us, it is an ironic reflection on how nature adapts to human aggression. We found great inspiration in the Amazonian bird, the lilac. It imitates the chirping of other birds, the sound of saws and falling trees in the same way.

From the oversaturated color palette to the 2D background/FX animation mixed with CG, the film pushes all stylization. The stylized animals in DreamWorks' "Madagascar" series are presented as naturalist depictions. All elements are expertly put together into a fun and engaging package, and the development art on 3dar's website gives a glimpse of the effort expended to explore all the graphic possibilities.
