"Everything I Can See From Here" by Sam Taylor and Bjorn Askim

"Everything I Can See From Here" has one simple quality that is all too rare in animation: mystery. As a viewer, I had no idea where this short film was headed, but it was a fascinating journey that drew me in completely through the mastery of the narrative style of its creators, Sam Taylor and Björn-Erik Askim. They made the film as a personal project of the London-based collective The Line. It is also timely in that it reminds us that hand-drawn animation is an important art form that is evolving in exciting, fresh new directions.
