Rattle That Rock" by Alasdair + Jock

The official animated video for David Gilmour's "Rattle That Lock" was produced by Alasdair and Jock of London-based production company Trunk Animation, under the creative direction of Aubrey Powell of Hipgnosis. The hand-drawn animation depicts various aspects of John Milton's "Paradise Lost," which inspired Polly Samson, lyricist of "Rattle That Lock." Trank directors Alasdair Brotherston and Jock Mooney, along with producer Richard Burnett, assembled a team of 12 animators, artists, and compositors to draw major inspiration from the first three volumes of "Paradise Lost," while also drawing from all They worked on the film over a period of three months, drawing details from the first three volumes of Paradise Lost, as well as from the twelve volumes. The film follows Satan's journey from his fall from the Kingdom of Heaven, through Pandemonium, Purgatory, and Chaos, to his corruption of the virgin Earth.

"Rattle That Lock" begins with four sounds by Mickaël Boumendil, recorded by David Gilmour on his iPhone at the Aix-en-Provence train station, that precede an announcement in the SNCF station of the French national railroad.
