Ralph Bakshi's "Last Days on Coney Island" premieres on Vimeo.

Animation newcomer Ralph Bakshi, director of "Fritz the Cat," "Heavy Traffic," "Coonskin," and "Wizards," will present his new film "Last Days of Coney Island" on October 29, his 77th birthday, exclusively on Vimeo On Demand! The film will premiere on Vimeo On Demand on October 29, his 77th birthday.

The 22-minute film, his first major film project in decades, raised $174,195 from 1,290 backers on Kickstarter in 2013. Bakshi animated the film and drew the backgrounds himself. The following actors provided the voices: Omar Jones as Shorty, Rick Singer as Louie, Tina Romanus as Molly, Esperanza Quintero as Louise, and Robert Costanzo as Max.

The film promises to deliver a great deal of raw Bakshi-esque grit in a story that is described as "a violent collage of characters, all trying to get somewhere, but not getting there because they don't know how to go on without destroying everything." The Vimeo rental fee is $5
