We made bronzers!

As the second season of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic begins, it is worth revisiting the post that started the phenomenon known as "Brownies."

Amid's comments on the current state of animated television, addressed to a professional audience, were interpreted differently by younger animation fans who are less familiar with industry terms such as creator-driven animation. The unexpected reaction to the article spread on 4chan's /b/ and ignited a worldwide fandom for this harmless children's show, leading to this and other obsessive sites like this one.
