Ruby Spears at Stu's Show

Thundarr, Fangface, Turbo Teen, Plastic Man, Rickety Rocket (above), Mighty Man and Yukk, Rubik The Amazing Cube, Mr. T...... If you grew up on these Saturday morning cartoons, you'll want to tune in to Wednesday's Internet radio broadcast of "Stu's Show" with TV cartoon producers Joe Ruby and Ken Spears on May 2 at 7 PM ET/4 PM PT, A rare two-hour live interview with host Stuart Shostak and writer Mark Evanier.

Perhaps the most successful suppliers to the Saturday morning show after Hanna-Barbera, Joe and Ken began working at H-B in 1959 in the film editing and sound tracking department. They were soon hired as scriptwriters and contributed so much to H-B that CBS network president Fred Silverman hired them to direct such H-B staples as "Wacky Race" and "Scooby-Doo." When Silverman moved from CBS to ABC, he gave the team an exclusive contract to produce all of the network's cartoons, thus giving birth to series such as "Fun Face," "Thundarr," "Plastic Man," and many others.

Ruby Spears (the company) is still around (check the website), and the two veteran producers will talk about what's going on, what's next, and, of course, answer questions about the classic show from Stu and Mark and from readers who sent in questions by email. For more information on how to submit questions and how to listen to this Wednesday's show for free, check out the Stu's Show website.
