The Hub expects men to start calling themselves "belly-bros" and "care-dads."

Next month, The Hub Network will present "Care Bears: Welcome to Care-a-Lot," a revival of the 1980s toy commercial. Its earlier series, "My Little Pony Friendship is Magic," gained an unexpected following among adult males, known for the Brownie phenomenon, but one fandom is not enough for the Hub.

They believe that the Care Bears show also needs an adult male fan base, and they shamelessly encourage it themselves. Their PR firm sent the following press release. In addition to failing to distinguish between drawn and CG animation, this press release suggests names of potential male Care Bears fans:

Hey Amid-

What is the Care Bears' equivalent of Brownie Berry Brothers Care Dude, My Just like the cult hit that made shows like "Little Pony Friendship is Magic" a cult hit, the CG animation has been re-imagined to feature the spirit of friendship and caring.

"Care Bears: Welcome to Care-a-Lot" is a modern CGI animated adaptation of this classic cartoon, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year! Reimagined in the same taste as the Hub's other hit TV shows, everyone's favorite bear and his iconic belly badge have been transformed into a series that kids and families can enjoy together using today's technology. Will you be featuring the bears for the launch of the series this June?

We have art and clips available, as well as email interviews with executive producer Sarah Finn, the director, and the voice actors. If you are interested, please contact us and we will send you more information!

Thanks! [PR flack]

This will likely be the last time we mention Care Bears on the Cartoon Brew website, but here's a teaser for the show by parting ways:
