Disney Announces 2014 Animated Series for "Star Wars Rebels"

Just two months after Disney canceled the Cartoon Network series "Star Wars: The Clone Wars," the company announced a new series, "Star Wars Rebels." The show debuted as a one-hour special on the Disney Channel in 2014 and then continued as a regular series on Disney XD. The show is set in the 20 years between Episodes III and IV, "a time when the Empire has taken over the galaxy, the last Jedi knights are being hunted down, and a fledgling rebel army is forming against the Empire."

Dave Filoni, who served as executive producer on "The Clone Wars," will lead the production as exec producer. He will be joined by "Clone Wars" veterans Killian Plunkett (Art Director) and Joel Aron (CG Supervisor), and fresh faces:
