Talkback on "Sanjay and Craig"

Nickelodeon, in need of a hit show, announced this morning a new animated series, Sanjay and Craig. The show, about a young Indian boy named Sanjay and his talking pet snake, Craig, is created by Jim Dirschberger, Jay Howell (Designer, Bob's Buggers) and Andreas Trolf and produced by Will McRobb and Chris Viscardi (Pete and Pete's Adventure, KaBlam!, Bravest Warriors) will serve as executive producers.

Early reviews were favorable for this hand-drawn series. Entertainment Weekly called the show "fast-paced, a product of the Internet age of GIFs" as well as a "clear return to a simpler time."

The AV Club acknowledged the show's Calvin & Hobbesian dynamic, noting "friendship, joy , intelligence, and most importantly, a great message about imagination." The San Francisco Chronicle also described the show as "juvenile, but clever and very, very funny," and applauded its creators for "being kids, and often more sophisticated than children's television gives them credit for."

If you have seen the show, please report your thoughts here. As always, this talkback is open only to those who have seen the program and wish to discuss it.
