New CG TV series "Alvin and the Chipmunks" to be produced in 2015

Simunks' new series "ALVINNN!!!! and The Chipmunks" will debut in 2015.The show, which has been in development since it first aired in 2010 as "The Chipmunks and Chipettes," will be the first television format to feature characters in CGI.The 52 x 11-minute series is also the first Chipmunks original TV show in 25 years.

The new series was created by Ross Bagdasarian, Jr. and his wife Janice Kalman, who have directed the characters since 1972, when Ross Bagdasarian, Sr. died. According to them, it's a wonderful comeback. Baghdasarian, Jr. said

, "Janice has created a show that I think is the best we've ever done." The show is produced by Bagdasarian Productions and the French production studio Genao Productions, and will be distributed worldwide (except in the US and France) by PGS Entertainment.
