Fox picks up Seth MacFarlane-produced series "Bordertown"

Seth MacFarlane's stable of animated writers has finally been given a place to dump offensive Mexican jokes and stereotypes, as Fox has announced that Mark Hentemann, executive producer of "Family Guy," who also executive produces with MacFarlane, will produce and write (executive producer of "Family Guy" with MacFarlane), has announced the pickup of "Bordertown" (13 episodes), which will be produced and written by Hentemann. Alex Carter (Family Guy) and Dan Weber (American Dad) will serve as co-executive producers.

Debuting in Fall 2014 and produced by 20th Century Fox Television, the show is described as:

Bordertown takes a satirical look at the cultural changes taking place across the United States. Set in a fictional desert town near the Mexican border, it follows the intertwined daily lives of two neighbors: Bud Buckwald and Ernesto Gonzalez. Bud, a married father of three, is a Border Patrol agent who feels threatened by the changing culture of his neighborhood. Ernesto, who lives next door to Bud, is a hardworking Mexican immigrant and father of four. As Bud and Ernesto's paths begin to cross, their families are bound together by friendship, romance, and conflict.

The show will move from FOX to TBS in 2014, "American Dad!" was created as a replacement for "American Dad! Bordertown will air Sundays on FOX's Animation Domination lineup alongside The Simpsons, Family Guy, and Bob's Burgers.
