New "Powerpuff Girls" special to start in January

A new "Dance Pantsed" special for "Powerpuff Girls" will air on Cartoon Network on January 20 at 7:30 PM ET/PT. The show will feature a new character, the flamboyant mathematician Fibonacci Sequins, voiced by Ringo Starr. Starr will also perform a new song titled "I Wish I Was A Powerpuff Girl."

In "Dance Pants," why does Mojo Jojo kidnap a mathematician, an opera singer, and a badger? To steal Chemical X, of course, and ultimately take over Townsville. But when his plan is thwarted by the Powerpuff Girls, he invents an evil video game called "Dance Pants R-EVILution" and tries to manipulate their minds and bodies to carry out his evil plan! The Professor must visit the girls' dark dancing past so they can save all of Townsville!

Originally titled Powerpuff Girls Dance Pants R-EVIL-lution. The production was directed by Dave Smith ("The Flintstones: On the Rocks"), with Kevin Dart ("Steven Universe") as art director and Passion Pictures (UK) as animation producer. Craig McCracken, creator of "Powerpuff," did not participate in the production.
