New artwork for Nick's "Funny" program

As part of their recent upfront presentation, Nickelodeon revealed new art from their already announced series: Pig Goat Banana Cricket, Bad Seeds, and Welcome to the Wayne.

If their new group of shows seems comedy-centric, it is the result of Nick's market research, which revealed to them that kids value laughter more than vacations, family meals, and holidays. Russell Hicks, Nick's president of content development and production, explains, "What kids today want more than anything else is comedy, and that's what they expect from Nickelodeon. With the clear goal of reflecting their tastes and preferences in our creative choices, we have tailored new content to make it most relevant and entertaining for them." [Pig Goat Banana Cricket and Bad Seeds will each air 26 episodes, while Welcome to the Wayne has received a six-episode order for Nick App. The latter show is produced by children's show writer/composer Billy Lopez, brother of "Anna and the Snow Queen" co-writer Robert Lopez.

Pig Goat Banana Cricket-This show features the absurd tale of four friends and roommates, Pig (the idiot), Goat (the artist), Banana (the wise guy) and Cricket (the brainiac). The series is created by Dave Cooper and J. Ryan and executive produced by David Sachs ("The Simpsons," "Regular Show"), who co-wrote the script with J. Ryan. Cooper also directed the series' art director pilot, directed by independent animator Nick Cross.

Bad Seed-Harvey, a sweet and well-meaning bird, makes two new best friends, Fee and Fu, the wildest imps in the forest; their unlikely friendship only deepens as they push each other out of their comfort zones and into endless adventure. Written and directed by C.H. Greenblatt ("SpongeBob" and "Chowder").

"Welcome to Wayne"-Started by Emmy Award-winning Nick App, "Welcome to Wayne" is a comedy about the adventures of 10-year-old boys Ollie Timbers and Anthi Molina in their crazy apartment, The Wayne. The series is directed by Billy Lopez (The Wonder Pets!)
