Sanjay and Craig" Art Exhibition "Butt What Is Art-" Opens This Week [Exclusive Art] - theWORLD

Nickelodeon is making an effort to showcase its renewed focus on creative cartooning at its animation studio. This week, the art exhibit "Butt What Is Art- A Sanjay and Craig Fine Art Retrospective" will open in the Atrium Gallery (Pollack Library) at California State University, Fullerton. The exhibit will focus on art created for and inspired by a series featuring an Indian boy and a talking snake. California State University, Fullerton, with its esteemed art department, has done a wonderful job curating the production assets that bring Sanjay and Craig to life."

The showcase traces the birth of Sanjay and Craig from its punk-inspired creation in San Francisco, where the man-snake duo was first drawn, to its current status as a creator-centric, artist-inspired, storyboard-driven show The collection is a collection of original character sketches, original artwork, and original artwork. The collection consists of original character sketches, layouts, backgrounds, title cards, storyboards, and animated footage. In addition, the curators commissioned original art for the exhibition, including drawings, sculptures, and a collection of one-of-a-kind fart bottles.

The exhibition is curated by CSU Fullerton MFA student Emily Tyler. The opening reception is this Saturday, April 12, from 5-7 pm. For more information, visit the CSU Fullerton website.
