First Look: "Peanuts" short film produced in France

Last year, it was announced that Angoulême, France-based Normaal Animation would produce 500 90-second animated shorts based on Charles Schulz's "Peanuts."

At the time, it was unclear whether this new animation would be traditional or CGI, but the answer to that question was confirmed when several shorts were posted online: it turned out to be a 2D digital puppet show. The video above is the French episode, while the video below (filmed at a conference and therefore in low quality) is the English version.

The series premiered on November 9 on France 3's Ludo block and will soon be broadcast on Italian broadcaster Rai. The series will be rolled out internationally throughout 2015 to coincide with the 65th anniversary of the comic's debut; according to C21 Media, agreements are currently underway to air the shorts in Japan, China, Brazil, Germany, and Latin America.
