Teaser Video for Grant Orchard's New TV Series "Hey Duggee" Released

Studio AKA has posted a first look at Hey Duggee (formerly Chop Chop), a ridiculously charming new series for young children directed by Grant Orchard, who won a BAFTA and was nominated for an Academy Award for "A Morning Walk".

The series, consisting of 52 seven-minute episodes, will begin airing on CBeebies in January, preceded by a Christmas special on December 17. Aimed at 2- to 5-year-olds, "Hey Duggee" follows the show's animal characters in the Squirrel Club, who encourages children to solve problems as if they were the show's animal characters at the Squirrel Club. At the end of each episode, a badge is awarded by the club's leader, Duggie the dog.

Orchard says:

As a parent, I am always looking for suggestions on what to do with my kids. Everything I loved to do as a kid, I did again with my own kids. Creating a 52-episode series of 52 activities to do with my kids seemed like a no-brainer to me. I am a bit of a geeky collector and loved badges when I was younger. Each episode comes with a special activity sheet with five additional tasks that kids can do with their parents.
