FXX and ADHD Partner to Launch Late-Night Anime Block

Buoyed by the success of "The Simpsons" reruns, Fox's youth-oriented station FXX will launch a late-night animation block on January 22, 2015. The block will follow the reruns of The Simpsons. A sneak peak is scheduled for January 1 at 12 a.m.

The block includes shows such as Lucas Brothers Moving Company (with eight unaired episodes), High School USA!!!, Axe Cop, and John C. Reilly and Ben Jones' Stone Quackers, as well as Fox's short-lived Animation Domination High-Def, will repurpose content already created for the block. ADHD, created by former Adult Swim executive Nick Weidenfeld, has been off television since last June, but continues to maintain a presence on digital platforms such as FoxADHD.com.

"I'm insanely excited to partner with FXX and help them create a new block of programming for the network," says Weidenfeld, a self-described "global thinker." Weidenfeld continues: there is no more fitting home to launch Lucas Brothers Moving Inc. and Stone Quakers than after The Simpsons, and 2015 will be a great year."

FXX has committed to keeping the ADHD block in place through summer 2015, and if it proves successful, they can commission original content. The block is part of a larger effort by FXX to expand its animation offerings, which includes the recent acquisition of Archer reruns from sister network FX. (Thanks, Roberto Severino)
