Steven Universe" and "Uncle Grandpa" Crossover Special Airs Today

This afternoon, Cartoon Network will premiere a crossover special of two series: "Steven Universe" and "Uncle Grandpa. The project was announced last February.

In the special "Say Uncle," Uncle Grandpa helps Steven unleash the power of the Crystal Gem. The project has caused unease among Steven Universe's online fans, who worry about the difference in tone between the two shows. Steven Universe's creative team has reassured fans that they know exactly what they are doing, and Matt Barnett, the show's writer, said the idea for the crossover was started by Steven Universe creator Rebecca Sugar He noted.

The 11-minute special airs today at 5:30 PM ET/PT. Here is a clip:
