First Look at Disney's Pickles & Peanuts

Earlier today at Comic-Con's "Gravity Falls" panel, Disney unveiled a sneak peek of the upcoming series "Pickles & Peanuts" and released the opening title sequence and show footage:

The series is aimed at a "sensibility not found in television.

That sensibility may be different from other animated TV series, but it is nonetheless familiar. Teenagers and 20-somethings have been exploring the hodgepodge of everything and anything in online animation for years now. As the previews make clear, Disney has honed this formula and, with the help of Halifax, Canada-based Copernicus Studios, has brought the visual style up to the level of animated TV. It will be worth watching to see if the random humor approach, often funny in small doses, can stand up to the length of the episodes.

Speaking of Internet animation, Disney is paying more attention than ever. They have also released several shorts and a teaser for "Two More Eggs Tuesdays," a new Internet and TV series from the creators of the online relic Homestar Runner.
