Paramount Releases Star-Studded, Fart-Filled Trailer for "Pose of Fury"

Paramount has released the trailer for "Pose of Fury: The Legend of Hank," a furry animated feature with a tumultuous past starring Michael Cera and Samuel L. Jackson. Originally announced in 2015 and slated for release in 2017, the film will now be released on July 15, 2022.

The CG film is a take on Mel Brooks' classic comedy western "Blazing Saddles," in which a diminutive pooch wanders into a small village full of cats and is recruited to help defeat a ruthless villain who plans to wipe the village off the map.

Co-directed by Rob Minkoff (The Lion King) and Mark Coetzee (Big Hero 6, Rumble), with a screenplay by Ed Stone and Nate Hopper. Minkoff, Adam Nagle, and Guy Collins produced, with Alex Schwartz, Adrian Politovki, and Martin Metz as executive producers.

In addition to Serra and Jackson, the film features the voices of Michelle Yeoh, Mel Brooks, Ricky Jarvais, Aasif Mandeville, Gabriel Iglesias, Djimon Hounsou, Kylie Cuioca and Kathy Sim.

"Paws of Fury" is produced by Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon Movies, Align and Aniventure in association with HB Wink Animation and GFM Animation. Flying Tigers Entertainment produced the film in association with Cinesite.

The film has experienced a long and tumultuous production and distribution history. Originally released in 2015 under the title Blazing Samurai and produced at Arc Productions in Toronto, the studio abruptly closed in 2016, a year before the film was scheduled for theatrical release.In January 2022, Paramount acquired the film for North America and other key territories from acquired the film from GFM Animation.
