Cannes Critics' Week Selects Animated Films for its Lineup

This year's Cannes Film Festival may not have many animated films (only one film was selected out of competition), but the Critics' Week sidebar will feature three animated shorts and a live-action feature film with animated scenes.

Everybody Loves Jeanne, the live-action debut of César Award-winning animator Céline Deveau, has been selected for a special screening at the event. The film incorporates fragments of animation into its narrative. In addition, "Ice Merchants" by João Gonzalez and "It's Nice in Here" by Robert-Jonathan Coyers will be screened in the Short Film Competition, while Joseph Pearce's "Scale" will have a special screening.
