Aztec history is reconsidered with a hand-drawn feature - Jaguar's mark - (exclusive).

The producers of Ocelotl Co in Mexico City and Origem Produtora De Conteúdo in Brazil, Annecy 2021Contrechamp Player My Uncle Jose, Paris-based vfx and animation company Hecat (Matrix Reloaded, Speed Racer) have joined the mythological feature "Jaguar's Mark: Awakening of Fire." The first edition limited edition edition includes 2 types: the first edition limited edition edition and the regular edition.

Works of fiction that are historically grounded, citing the magical realism of films like Spirited Away and Kiriku as major influences, Jagger's mark is largely based on archaeological and anthropological records of ancient Mexico. The screenwriters used the writings of legendary Mexican archaeologist Dr. Eduardo Matos Moctezma and Felipe Solis, the former director of the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City, to base their stories on historical facts.

The Jaguar mark has not disappeared thousands of years ago, after the gods gave humanity the gift of the Sun. But the gift is intended to last for 52 years. Four days before the dark forces are set to devour humanity, the great young warrior named Xilactzin is accused of stealing important artifacts and punishes his hands

The young warrior and his friends are forced to travel to the underworld and recover the relics stolen by the Queen of Darkness, Itzpapalotl, between light and darkness Along the way, as heroes often do, Xilactzin learns about himself as much as he does about fighting dark forces.

Aside from the historical influence that went into the film's script, Studio Ghibli veteran Sunao Katabuchi (director/writer, in this corner of the world) consulted the narrative parts of the script and wrote several scenes that would appear in the final draft.

However, Jaguar producer Mark is most excited to join Las Abejas, who enlisted members of the local indigenous community to sing in the film. The group, survivors of the 1997 Acteal massacre, form vocal cords and sing in their indigenous language, contributing to the film's score.

To move the film from development to production, Ocelotl Co and Origem pitched the project at several major international events, including the Cannes, Annecy and Quirino Awards. As Hecat is on board, production is ready to begin in earnest.

"This is a project born of the need to rethink the cultural outlook of Latin Americans themselves," Mayorga told Cartoon Brew. "We were sold a history of shameful misunderstandings based on false myths. Through 2d animation, I saw the opportunity to destroy those myths through one of the most powerful ancient civilizations of all time, Mexico (Aztecs). The result is an incredible story of native fantasy based on the 34th edition of Codex Borbonics and some other anthropological myths...We did a small anonymous focus group and the results showed that we tell a sure story that causes big emotions.

Hecat producer Chadi Abo said, "Ocelotl Co's creative team made a rich and interesting strategic choice in everything from character design, background, architectural details and wardrobe...And in addition to that, "Ocelotl Co's creative team made a rich and interesting strategic choice in everything from character design, background, architectural details and wardrobe...and he added:, Anime has this really nostalgic feeling of the 1980s anime style that shaped my childhood. The 2d animation test outputs an artistic visual cinematography that I think will please a market that is flooded with 3d and 2d animation that has this repetitive pattern of deja vu."

"Jaguar's mark is a magical story, full of very attractive, strong and charismatic characters, especially its protagonist Xilacatzin," explained Origem's producer Ducca Rios, who has a foothold in the majority of the film's bill, which has been facilitated with the help of Brazil's Ancine film agency.

"Today we are starting animation and everything from the script is very fascinating, beauty created by the great Argentine artist Nelson Luty "We are already aware of how wonderful it is.”
