Animafest Zagreb presents a grand competition lineup of six features.

Animafest Zagreb, the 2nd longest animation festival in the world, has announced a lineup of feature film competitions for the 6-5-10 2023 edition.

6 features have been selected for this year's festival, participating in heaps of shorts competing in 3 sections: the Grand Competition, the Student Competition and the Croatian Competition.

There are only six films in this year's feature competition, but producers from 11 countries are represented. The choices are aesthetically and narratively diverse, featuring stories about war, falling in love, growing up, and family. Some of the titles feature a muted palette and minimalist design, while others employ vibrant, psychedelic colors and mixing techniques that show a willingness to experiment that can often be found only abroad.

From this year's field, we talked about my love affair with Signe Baumane and her latest marriage, about Tibor Bánóczki and Sarolta Szabó and the Berlin player White Plastic Sky, and about Alberto Vázquez and his psychedelic war fable Unicorn Wars. Unicorn Wars producer Uniko also shared a lot of behind-the-scenes artwork.
