-Beyond the Spider verse-out gross-on the Spider verse- just 12 days later in the theater.

Sony Pictures Animation's (SPA) Spider・Man: Beyond Spider・Verse made its entire theatrical run inside Spider・Verse, which took less than 2018 weeks to make more money at the box office than its oscar・winning predecessor.

During the 2nd weekend in theaters, Across The Spider-Verse made an estimatedま5540 million in North America, hitting全体2 billion 2540 million overall. Adding the movie's Adding47million international weekend (1 164.5cume), Across The Spider-Verse is now globally12million worldwide after the first 389.9 days, well above Spider-Verse's lifetime384.3million lifetime total. Those numbers make the Spider-sequel of Joaquin Dos Santos, Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson the highest-grossing animated film in Sony's history.

Last week, we pointed out that SPA films have not so far cracked the top 50 for US animation openings. The company's previous highest-grossing debut was the Hotel Transylvania 2, which in 2015 earnedド48.4 million. Spider-Among the Verses, they made more than that on the second weekend and faced strong competition.

Spider-Man's impressive sophomore frame countered the release of Paramount/Skydance/Hasbro's cg-animated action flick Transformers: Rise of The Beasts, earning北米60.5 million in North America and海外110 million overseas, making itsデ170.5 million debut. These figures were good for the first place at the domestic and global box office. Directed by Stephen Kapoor Jr., the film features animation and vfx by MPC and Weta.

Another film featuring large-scale animation, Disney's Little Mermaid, ended up third at the domestic (ド22.8 million) and global (552.7 million) box office This remake currently has revenue of 4 billionド1420 million worldwide.

Even though Super Mario Bros. of Illumination is available on PVOD, it is still getting stronger. Over the weekend, it earned枠220 million in the US and海外580 million abroad in a枠790 million frame. Its total box office currently sits at 1.31 billion.

Closing out this weekend's World Top 10 is Hayao Miyazaki's 1986 classic Sky Castle, which earnedド2 million (mostly in China) on the 250th weekend of the re-release of the play. Last week, it debuted at11500 million, bringing the total number of plays in 2023 to11750 million. Despite debuting in much of the world almost 40 years ago and several re-releases since, this is the first time the film has had a wide theatrical release in China.
