Chinese streamer Bilibili to announce 68-title animation pipeline as demand for local works skyrocketed.

Every year, around this time, Chinese streaming giant Bilibili will announce its upcoming animation schedule at the Anime Made By Bilibili event. This year's lineup was 68 titles, up from 19 last year.

In addition to the huge lineup, Bilibili announced a new partnership with Shanghai Animation Film Studio and Shanghai Film Infinity, jointly developed a new season and film adaptation of the Chinese animated series Yao-Chinese folk tales. Bilibili has also established a partnership with the Fuji TV network in Japan, where it launched a dedicated Bilibili channel. Both parties will cooperate in the adaptation of the Japanese series of link clicks.

It is worth clarifying that Bilibili's lineup of 68 titles does not mean a new title of 68 titles. Instead, the list includes a whole production slate of platforms of series, movies and specials, including new seasons of existing shows.

That said, the lineup is still impressive, cementing Bilibili's place at the forefront of the Chinese animation industry.

Highlights from this year's lineup include:

Over the past 5 years, the monthly audience watching Chinese animation in Bilibili has increased by 6 times, making this category one of the main attractions of the service 1. According to the company's data, the average of Bilibili animation viewer completed 10 series per year, and the interaction with Chinese animation works on the platform exceeded 50 billion last year, although Bilibili did not identify what constitutes the interaction.

In a release accompanying the presentation, Carly Lee, Vice Chairman of the Board and Chief Operating Officer of Bilibili, said:

Bilibili believes in the enormous potential and value of Chinese animation and remains steadfast in its commitment to excellence, prioritizing quality and exceeding user expectations. In addition, it is dedicated to investing in and producing original content, providing a platform for aspiring animators to work with Bilibili to develop their talents.
