Adult Animation, AI and Distributor Wishlist: The panel we're looking forward to at this year's World Animation Summit.

This year's World Animation Summit starts in just 2 weeks, so we looked at the program and picked out 3 highlights from our 5-day schedule.

The event, which will be held in Garland, North Hollywood, from 11/1 to 3, will feature dozens of guest speakers and panelists, a screening of some of this year's top animated shorts, and exciting networking opportunities for all participants.

This year's World Animation Summit brings together who is this year's animated feature director. Nick Bruno and Troy Quan (Nimona), Joaquin Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, Justin K. Thompson (Spider-Man: Spider-Man Universe), Benjamin Renner (Migration), Sam Fell (Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget), Kathie Lee Gifford (Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget) (Ruby Gilman, Teen Kraken), Chris Buck (Wish), Walt Dawn (Troll Band), Aaron Horvath and Michael Jerenick (Super Mario Bros. movies); Jeff Lowe (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem), Peter Thorne (Elemental).

As the animation industry faces upheaval in the face of strikes, mergers, layoffs and shutdowns, it is becoming more important than ever for artists and creators to know what prominent commissioners want with their new projects. In this panel, executives from some of Hollywood's biggest studios discuss what they are looking for from the new project.

Adult animation has a moment, and this panel examines the root causes of the increase in production and distribution of a series of mature themes. A group of experts will discuss the creative benefits of creating for older audiences, including the opportunity to push the media beyond the traditional limitations of family entertainment. They also answer questions about the challenges of production for an audience that is more discerning in its taste.

The conversation focused on key trends affecting development and acquisition strategies, the new DIY mindset of an emerging generation of creators called the "Roblox generation", and content for younger audiences.
