Animation will appear on Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, Peacock and others in 2022/8.

March 8 is packed with big-name animation features, series and specials heading to the streaming platform.

The theatrical fare heading to the platform this month includes Pixar's Lightyear. Lightyear will be available for streaming on Disney+ on 8/5.

Minions of NBCUniversal/Illumination: The rise of the Gru, still dominant in the box office, is expected to drop onn Peacock on May 8, but there is no exact release date yet. We know that late last year, the streaming service announced that it would get it all 45 days after Dreamworks and Illumination films hit theaters.That is, the latest Minion feature is likely to land on the platform in mid-8.

Direct streaming debuts on May 8 will include Netflix's Lost Ollie, a limited series from creator Shannon Tindle and director Peter Ramsey, and the Rise of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The movie. The Streamer is also dropping a new episode of the Cuphead show and the first episode of the 2 Fullmetal Alchemist feature.

On 8/5, Apple TV+ will launch Luck, the first ever animation feature produced on Skydance Animation. Meanwhile, Paramount+ continues its animated game with the addition of season 3 of reboot and star Trek: Lower Decks in the Beavis and Butt-Head series.
