"Batman: Cape Crusader" gets two seasons Prime Video Commission.

12 March, Warner Bros.Television Group chairman Channing Dungey said her company has a contract with AMAZON, confirming that some of the DC-branded content will be delivered to Prime Video. Currently, Bruce Timm, Matt Reeves, J.J.It has been confirmed that Abrams' animated series Batman: Caped Crusader has received an order for 2 seasons from the platform.

Caped Crusader was first ordered for the HBO Max series in 2021-5. In 2022/8, HBO Max announced that it was not advancing some of its animation commissions, including Crusader. Other drop titles included the Gumball movie, Bye Bye Bunny: Looney Tunes Musical, Merry Little Batman, The Day the Earth Blew Up: Looney Tunes movie, and How I Did It on Holiday: The Steve Urkel Story.

At the time, there were reports that 6 projects had been axed by WBD, but that was never the case. As we reported, the titles were no longer moving forward on HBO Max, but WBD wasn't completely canceling any of them. After that, the company confirmed that it was still shopping Bye Bye Bunny for other agencies and re-creating the film as a full-fledged musical.

The fate of 5 of these titles is still in the air, but the order for the 2 seasons of Caped Crusader is welcome news 1 year after so many high-profile projects were canceled and titles removed from the platform.

Batman: Cape Crusader is produced by Warner Bros. Animation, Abrams' Bad Robot Production, and Reeves' 6th & Idaho. The show is a throwback to the iconic 1992-1995 Batman: The animated series, co-created by Tim.

The Log line of the show "Utilizing state-of-the-art animation technology, this powerful creative partnership will reinvent Batman and his iconic Rogue gallery again with sophisticated storytelling, subtle characters, and intense action sequences all set in a visually striking world." It will be.

Caped Crusader may not be the only animated DC title on Prime Video. One of the first pieces announced by new DC studio bosses James Gunn and Peter Saffron after they took the reins late last year was Creature Commandos, Gunn they didn't show how that series would be distributed, but Prime Video could be a possible destination if the show doesn't go to HBO Max. It seems to be.

According to Safran, "If that makes sense, there's the ability to sell outside HBO Max. So we figure out if there are certain shows that offer better service elsewhere, or if there is no real estate in hbo Max for us. But we like the idea of hosting shows on Amazon and Hulu and Netflix. It just widens the DC audience.

Given both Dungey and Safran's comments, it seems likely there will be a lot more DC animated content heading to Prime Video soon.
