10 films shortlisted for the Vfx Oscar Race

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced this afternoon the 10 films that have ben shortlisted for the visual effects Oscar. In alphabetical order, the films are:

The shortlist was determined by the Academy's Visual Effects Branch Executive Committee. All members of the Visual Effects Branch will now be invited to view 10-minute excerpts from each of the shortlisted films on Saturday, January 10, 2015, and after that screening, the members will nominate five films.

The Oscar nominations will be announced on Thursday, January 15, 2015.
