European Animation Awards opens call for entry, announces extended 2-day event

The European Animation Awards association has just opened the call for its 2018 Emile Awards.

The inaugural edition of the Emile Awards took place last December in Lille, France, attracting well over a thousand attendees from across the European continent and shining a spotlight on the diversity and strength of contemporary European productions.

For the sophomore edition, two new award categories have been added – Best Sound Design in TV/Broadcast Films and Best Sound Design in Feature Film – growing the total number of awards to 19. Additionally, the organization has expanded the number of possible nominations per category from three to five, which means a possible of 90 total works will be recognized, in addition to the lifetime achievement winner.

The award is growing in another significant way, too. In addition to the award ceremony, there will be two days of events surrounding the Emile Awards, including conferences, masterclasses, workshops, exhibitions, and screenings. All of this, including the award ceremony, will take place in Lille, France, on December 7 and 8, 2018.

The deadline for European filmmakers to submit projects is October 15, 2018. Rules and application forms are available at animationawards.eu.
